Founded in the early 1970’s, the Federation of Damanhur in Italy is an internationally renowned center for spiritual, artistic and social research. Damanhur is located in the alpine foothills of Piedmont, Italy and comprises 44 small eco-villages, with approximately twenty people. Damanhur is dedicated to scientific and spiritual research, sustainability, holistic education for children, holistic healing, the sacred and visual arts, ritual theatre and more.
THE FEDERATION OF DAMANHUR
We will visit different Communities within the Federation, learn about Damanhur’s research and philosophy, and participate in some courses to help connect us with our deepest soul and the Divine. One of the communities we will visit is the Sacred Wood, pictured above, where we will do walking meditations in the stone Circuits and Labyrinths and witness how the “tree house community” lives in harmony with the Plant World.
THE TEMPLES OF HUMANKIND
Each day we will journey together into the Temples of Humankind, www.thetemples.org, exquisite underground temples filled with painting, sculpture, stained glass, mosaics and precious metals. Megan will lead us in personal and global prayers for healing, deep meditation, chanting, drumming and ritual with her ceremonial robes. We will also be able to spend the night inside the Temples for deep reflection and dreaming. And we will be taking 2 intensive Spiritual courses on the last 4 days of our journey.
Thousands of people from all over the world use the Temples every year as an instrument for inner research and contact with the divine and to open to inspiration, dreams and creativity. These new paths of meditation allow a deep level of access to the spiritual energies of the Halls and offer an extraordinary opportunity of contact and dialogue with the soul and with the Divine.
We will journey into all the Halls for experiential learning and healing:
Hall of Water – dedicated to the feminine principle, it is in the shape of a chalice and invites receptivity
Blue Hall – for meditation on social matters and is used as a place of inspiration and reflection
Hall of Earth – dedicated to the masculine principle, to the earth as an element and planet and to past and future reincarnations
Hall of Metals – represents the different ages and developmental stages of humankind and the shadow elements of the human psyche
Labyrinth Hall – showing Interfaith worship through the centuries, uniting different cultures and peoples
Hall of Spheres – positioned where 3 synchronic lines merge, inviting planetary contact and transmission of messages, ideas and dreams to create harmony between nations
Hall of Mirrors – dedicated to the sky, air and light, solar energy, strength and life. There are 4 altars to earth, water, air and fire
